What will you do differently in 2010? January 1, 2010

Each year brings new lessons, new challenges and new victories…as we say good-bye to 2009 and look toward the new year, what are some things that you will do differently this year?

Here are a few of mine:

1 – Seek Him. There is nothing that changes your life more profoundly than consistently seeking God. This year I will be studying his Word more and devoting more time specifically to seeking Him.

2- Be Still. This is a biggie for me. It is so hard to take time to just “Be Still” — I truly believe it is in these quiet, still moments that God is able to speak volumes to us.

3- Serve. Giving myself. Actually using what God gave me! What a concept!

Your turn! ……

God moves in mysterious ways…but His plans sometimes leave me clueless. I have faith that there IS a method to the madness that sometimes threatens to swallow me (and my family) and that the path before holds much beauty. Perhaps my life is rather like a path through the woods – you’ve just got to go slowly and thoughtfully, admiring the shaft of light falling on lush ferns….brushing away a thorny branch to discover lush berries hidden from the more rushed, careless viewer. Wishing you a peaceful, thoughful journey and the discovery of treasures that reward those whose look upon life with caring eyes and heart!

    • very well written Linda..you are poetic 🙂 Praying that you and yours had a peacefull holiday season. I agree, sometimes when dealing with AHUS it is so very hard to see and understand how this can come from His hand. But if we believe in Him, we must believe his word….takes a lot of faith, doesn’t it? You are a wonderful mama..!!

This year I am also going to be seeking stillness. I found 2009 to be a year of Busyness in God. You know when you are doing the work of His, reading His word, Serving….But in your busyness you lose the connection with the One that means the most.

I am so glad that you have kept your MaMa Place. I have been enjoying your input over at the Bible Cafe.

    • thx Theresa! I enjoy your input as well…..I love Breaking Free…such an eye (and heart) opening study! I complete know what you mean by busyness…I struggle with that as well!

This year I am trying to trust and turn to him more. I often live my life like I am the one who is in control and then am hit with the hard realization that that is not true. It will be hard but I am going to try to take it just one day at a time.
