I am confused as to whether I leave a comment here, or on aidenscross.com. But either way, I have been following you guys, on these sites, since back when you told all of as at JJB. 🙂 I have learned so much about AHUS… I am sure I wouldn’t even know it existed, if not for knowing you. I tell my girlfriends in my Mommy group all the time, about Aiden and about updates on his progress. I am looking forward to when I can buy my own Aiden’s Cross, to show my support. 🙂 Keep up your excellent work Christy!

  16. Wow, I am a registered nurse and was not aware of AHUS. Will be lifting your son up and prayer and your efforts to raise awareness. A noble undertaking stepping up to raise awareness!

  17. What a beautiful way to spread awareness about this rare condition. The proceeds will help the university put more resources towards research. The more we know the more we can help. Thank you for sharing this information about AHUS!

I subscribe via email (new subscriber!). I would help spread the word by wearing the necklace everywhere! It’s so cool and distinctive, I know people would ask about it, so it really is a GREAT way to open a conversation about it. Brilliant idea, really!

Ok, the last part isn’t an entry. I just wanted to make you smile 🙂

  24. amanda addison Says:

    Hi christybear,
I am a nurse and felt horrible that I knew NOTHING about AHUS until aidan was diagnosed and you made it your mission to inform the world. So I say you go girl. I tell other nurses at work (ours is a med surg/peds unit—though I don’t do peds) and they are amazed at how little is known about this. I would spread it more on facebook, twitter, post your blogs throughout the internet (however you do that???), word of mouth, and go on OPRAH or maybe ellen (whom I really like at this time!)

  25. Rebekah Says:

    hi christy,
I’m another JJB mama who has been following you and Toot since all of this began. I was a follower on your original blog. I am a follower on FB and Twitter and Aiden’s website. I wasn’t sure if I was a follower here or not, so I just submitted my e-mail address just to be on the safe side. I re-tweeted about this on my Twitter (which I only have for our business, but this was worthwhile) before I knew anything about the contest. As I have said on FB, you are an inspiration. Your strength is something that I greatly admire.

  26. Rebekah Says:

I wanted to go ahead and add that I have already tried to spread the word about AHUS. I have Aiden on prayer lists as I have for two years. I have shared your video (which, btw, that David Crowder song is hitting me really hard when I hear it this week for some reason) on FB and I think I have shared about the AHUS necklace. I hope that people are doing something with the information I am sharing.

  27. Marianna Says:

I am an Intensive Care Unit nurse – though I mostly care for adults we do sometimes have pregnant or postpartum mamas. I occasionally work in the ER as well. I could do lots of educating of future/current parents as well as my own coworkers about this by wearing a necklace! I love it!
I also learned lots on the site myself – especially the research developments section. I learned that they are currently initiating four prospective, open-label clinical studies of eculizumab as a treatment for patients with aHUS in North America and multiple European countries

  28. Marianna Says:

I follow you on twitter @mannabsn

  29. Marianna Says:

My favorite is the “For I Know..” bracelet – my fave Bible verse.
